What is the CTI Concrete System?
The CTI Concrete System is a color integrated, modified acrylic, mixed with Portland Cement and Polymer that is activated with a modified resin.
Acrylic decking has been in use since the early 70’s. Our manufacturing facility has been producing coatings since 1968.
Once the skim coat is trowelled on and the Colored Decorative Coat is sprayed, the surface is sealed with an a protective sealer. These sealers is non porous and UV protective.
The CTI Concrete System should not show wear providing that the Sealer is replaced as wearing occurs. We estimate this to take place no sooner than 3.3 years under normal traffic conditions for a solvent based sealer. Other type sealers will give you different result, ask your dealer which sealer is best for your application. As long as the sealer is in good condition any wear will be absorbed by the protective coating.
If you replace your existing concrete you will be paying the cost of rip-out, removal, forming and pouring. This takes larger equipment than the CTI Concrete System, which sometimes causes damage to the landscaping. When completed you will have new concrete that will stain, will absorb oil and will be subjected to the dangers of salts, and has a strength of 3,000 to 4,000 PSI. Repairing concrete with the CTI Concrete System will be stronger than most concrete at 7,000 PSI, resist Stains, resist Oil Spills and prevent Salt Damage. Additionally, it will add value to your home or property by making an attractive presentation of your concrete surfaces.
YES. CTI is as useful indoors as well as outdoors. The CTI system can be applied in basements as well as kitchen and bath.
There are a variety of sealers to chose from when completing a project. To determine which sealer to use, your dealer will take into consideration what traffic it will receive, if it is inside or out, and how accessible it will be if a reseal is needed. CTI has 3 sealers that are approved for indoor use.
An average project takes 2 to 4 days. Larger, more complex jobs may take longer. Weather delays can also be a factor. Clean foot traffic is usually allowed within the same day.
No, the sealers we apply to our system are not affected by most chemicals.
No, not dramatically, the CTI product has approximately a 2% fade factor over seven years, which is undetectable by the human eye.
The material is repairable to its original state. We service all decks past warranty.
Yes, though it generally will need to be scarified or sandblasted to remove the paint enough to where our product will bond with the original concrete.
The cost of the CTI system is normally 20%-25% less than the cost of removing cement and pouring new and is much better looking and much easier to maintain than the original cement.
The price depends on a number of factors, such as the condition of the original concrete, the patterns chosen, etc. This is why we offer a free estimate appointment to determine all of these factors.
Usually, normal washing with a hose is all that is needed. For stubborn stains, a brush with laundry detergent is all that is needed.
While concrete floors are relatively easy to maintain, compared with other types of floor surfaces, they aren’t completely maintenance free. How much maintenance your floor will need largely depends on the amount of traffic it receives. The maintenance needs of a residential floor will be much different than those for a floor in a high-traffic commercial or retail environment. In most cases, residential floors experience light foot traffic, and a simple cleaning regimen of occasional sweeping and damp mopping will keep concrete floors looking like new for many years. Protecting concrete floors with a good sealer and a coat of floor finish or wax will make them even more resistant to stains, chemicals and abrasion. In areas of heavy traffic, such as entrances and foyers, you can reduce maintenance and wear and tear by using floor mats, both inside and outside of the entryways.
